Plan change – off to Colombia!

Hi everyone!

So originally our plan was to head south through Chile to BA. This didn’t happen as there were bad snow storms on the Bolivian-Chilean border and the borders were open and closing regularly with no warning. Also, Colombia is cheaper than Chile, so here we are!

We had a few days travelling time from La Paz to Bogota and for a few days it was ‘different day different city’. Sian went to Isla del Sol too on the way for two days. I personally took a bus to Cusco, had a day in Cusco, flew to Lima, had a day in Lima, flew overnight to Bogota, had that day in Bogota and got an overnight bus to Salento. We didn’t stay in Bogota for a night, purely due to timing and wanting to see the rest of Colombia.

Bogota was nice! We got in to our friends’ hostel at 8am from our flight for brekky, then went on a 3 hour walking tour about street art. There was a mix between political art and pure artwork, and I loved the tour. We headed for a Colombian meal for lunch and then that afternoon we headed to the cable car for a view over the city. It seems a lot of South American cities are in vallies, so heading up and having a look at the view is great. We had some tea and cake at the top in a lovely cafe and headed back to grab our stuff before our night bus to Salento!

Xoxo
